It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of life member Ed Harris. Ed passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 75 and has been a member of our organization for 35 years. He was very involved in the town of Winsted, serving on the Winsted Fire Department as well as retiring from Winsted schools.
At Winsted Ambulance, life membership is not an automatic designation, it is a special designation voted on by the membership for those who have made a major contribution to the organization and bring experience and insight that they gained during their time with the organization.
We express our gratitude to Ed for his 35 years of service and the many years after his retirement where he remained an active part of our organization, providing his valuable insight and friendly presence.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 1-4pm (obituary: www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/edward-harris-obituary?id=62267831).
