This weekend we held our annual ambulance banquet at the amazing Crystal Peak - Wedding and Special Events Facility. Something we had not done in a couple of years, but felt it was important to do to give back to our volunteers.

We also honored our long time members Irene Brown, Chris Roger, Matt Vandeusen and Jessica Weiss with 5 years, Sandy Jasensky with 15 years. And an amazing 35 years for James Lucia and 45 years for Beverly Dillon.

In his speech Chief Meis thanked all the volunteers and our staffing partner Northeast Fire-Rescue, our public safety partners (Winsted Police Dept and Winsted Fire Department) as well as the Town of Winchester/Winsted, CT for their unwavering support. He also spoke of the important work our orientation team as well as the volunteer leadership team are doing.

He ended his speech with “To the community we serve — thank you for your trust. It’s an honor to be there for you during life’s most difficult moments. We don’t take that responsibility lightly, and we’ll continue to give you our very best.

As we look ahead, I’m confident in our future. We have a strong team, strong leadership, and strong support from our town and our partners. Let’s continue to grow, serve, and support one another.”

A big shout out to the staff of Crystal Peak and to Sally Carotenuti for planing an amazing event!
